Amazon Driver Gets Fired For Trying To Steal Customer’s Dog
An Amazon driver in Georgia gets fired after allegedly trying to drive off with a customer’s dog.
The owner’s dog, Terrika Currence of Henry County in Atlanta, said her young daughter noticed that the driver tried to lure their Pitbull into his delivery truck, WSB-TV reports.
“As I open the door to put the package in the house, and the dog food, my daughter screams and says, ‘The Amazon guy stole our puppy,’” Currence recounts.
She said she immediately dropped the products she ordered on the ground, rushed outside to confront the Amazon driver, and shot the video of her pooch inside the driver’s vehicle.
In the video, the dog’s owner can be seen opening the door to the back of the Amazon truck and started shouting at the Amazon driver.
“F—g Amazon done took my f—g dog out my f—g yard!” Currence can be heard yelling in the clip.
Currence said, “As soon as I opened the truck, he has the puppy inside of a bin. I had to grab the puppy and get him off the truck.”
As for the driver’s reason for taking the dog, Currence tells Atlanta News First, “He literally told me the dog was pretty and that he would love to have a puppy.”
Currence adds that now, every time a delivery driver comes, her daughter’s afraid that they’ll come and take their dog away.
Currently, the Amazon driver has been fired. Henry County police are also investigating, but there has been no word about an arrest being made.
Currence told WSB-TV that knowing that he has been fired is a “relief.”
“It gives me relief that he’s fired but if he’s doing things like that, I’m sure, you know it’s in his character. He’ll do it again,” Currence said.
Furthermore, an Amazon spokesperson reveals, “We’ve apologized to the customer and glad their dog was returned unharmed. The driver involved is no longer delivering for Amazon and we’ve reached out to law enforcement to assist as they investigate.”
