Chris Evans Tried Grooming His Dog And Adorably Fails
Captain America may be able to save the world every time there’s a major threat, but the one thing he couldn’t save is his dog’s hair cut. But that’s ok, no one likes a show-off. Chris Evans, who is known for playing the titular character in plenty of Marvel films, shared his failed attempt at giving his dog a quarantine hair cut. And the results are terrible but still funny.
Evans shared a photo of his dog, Dodger, sported a rather ravaged new haircut in his brown and white coat. Not only is the poor pooch’s hair uneven and patchy, but it appears that Dodger is even bald is some spots, like one side of his back.
It’s so awful-looking, it’s no surprise that the haircut went viral after he posted the photo to both his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
I assured him I knew what I was doing. He seemed skeptical at first, but with the help of a few treats, I talked him into it.
It went so wrong, so fast. I guess some things are better left to the professionals.

As he captioned the unfortunate picture, “I assured him I knew what I was doing. He seemed skeptical at first, but with the help of a few treats, I talked him into it.”
Unfortunately Dodger’s unwavering trust and loyalty in his owner was his downfall.
As Evans admitted his mistake, saying, “It went so wrong, so fast. I guess some things are better left to the professionals.”
He even added that Dodger “hasn’t seen a mirror yet. I told him it looks great.”
Good thing Dodger is a dog and won’t insist on seeing the results in a mirror. Plus, something tells us that he really wouldn’t care much if he saw the results – it’s not like dogs care much about appearances as humans do. We’re sure Evans is thankful for that. He rescued his precious pup back in 2017 from a local shelter where he was filming. Ever since the two have been the best of friends.
That year when he adopted him, Evans shared with PEOPLE, “I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog. They aged him at about one, he acts like a puppy, he’s got the energy of a puppy, he’s just such a sweetheart, he’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”
Given how full of love Dodger is, we’re sure the bad haircut has already been forgiven.
Further, on National Pet Day in 2018, Evans shared a sweet video to his Twitter, which featured the moment the two met.
Evans captioned the video, “This is the moment we met.”
This is the moment we met. He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out. I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!! #NationalPetDay pic.twitter.com/XjWxPWGDPu

In the footage, you can see a very happy Dodger trying to lick Evans’ fingers through the cage – no wonder Evans fell in love immediately.
Evans added, “He was trying so hard to stay seated even though he desperately wanted to get out. I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!!”
So true – dogs are the best!
