Where Can I Adopt And Older Dog In Alberta?
Most dog rescues and shelters will have older senior dogs, adult dogs, younger dogs, and puppies. Here’s a list of a couple of rescue organizations that specialize in older dogs.
- ARTS Senior Animal Rescue – Service Calgary, Edmonton, and Red Deer Alberta
- Elderdog Canada – they’re actually located in Rose Bay, Nova Scotia but they are a national organization and may rehome an older dog in your area.
My parents have been looking for an older dog as a companion and they’ve been working with several rescues that specialize in senior dogs.
They recently found a little three-legged dog that looks much like their last dog Ralphie. Hopefully, they’ll make a good match.

How Much Is It To Adopt A Dog In Alberta?
