Dog Waits For Elderly Owner To Catch Up During Their Walk
They say that growing old is not for the faint of heart. And while I’m only 30, I can certainly see how that is true. Just minor things, like not being able to eat junk food without exercising or being unable to go all week on barely any sleep, there certain bodily changes that make me realize I’m not as young as I used to be. So, I can only imagine the changes that occur as you get even older.
Growing old certainly doesn’t sound like it’s for the weak-willed. But so long as you’ve got a friend by your side, getting old can be taken in stride, right? Well, one very precious video captured the wonderful friendship between an old man and his dog. We already know just how much of a wonderful companion a dog is, but this video in particular perfectly captures the deep loyalty and love that our dogs have for us, regardless of how old or young we are.
One mature Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was out for a walk with his elderly neighbor. Getting old obviously means that you slow down, and something simple like taking a walk doesn’t happen as quickly as you may want. However, the spaniel had absolutely no problem patiently waiting for his owner to keep up with him.
In the heartwarming footage, the spaniel paces along a few feet ahead of his owner then stops and waits for him to catch up. He continues to do this every few feet, clearly making sure that his owner is still with him. The elderly gentleman is taking his time, pushing his roller walker along at the pace that suits him.
The exchange is so cute, you can’t help but tear up. That is the kind of loyalty and love that we all aspire to have in our lives.
Watch the video below, but be warned, you may need a tissue to get through:
