While most people hate the thought of being stuck at home for prolonged periods of time, there are a select few who are thrilled about it: introverts and pets.
Dogs, in particular, are loving the fact that their owners are working from home, and one owner even took to Twitter to share how her little wiener dog ended up accidentally injuring himself out of excitement.
Emma Smith wrote about how her happy little pooch, Rolo, sprained his tail, and how it just “stopped working” and when she and Rolo went in to the vet, the pair were told that it happened due to “excessive wagging.”
So my dog has been so happy that everyone is home for quarantine, that his tail has stopped working, so we went to the vet and the vet said ‘he had sprained his tail from excessively wagging it’
While it may sound like an exaggerated injury or a once-off freak accident, it’s actually quite common – at least more so than people realize. There is even a name for it, “Happy Dog Syndrome”.
Didn’t expect this happen, for those asking, he is currently on pain relief and the vet said he should be healed within a week, this is him on the 2nd day. He is super happy and there is now movement from side to side but he is struggling to lift it up in the air. pic.twitter.com/dY0o96HOpj
Of course, after Emma shared this information with the rest of the world, Twitter went nuts over her post – with loads of people liking it, and even more, retweeting it.
After the first tweet was so well-received, Emma followed up and let people know that Rolo is doing well and has been given some pain pills to take while his tail heals.
At least Rolo has his best friend home to take care of him. Let’s all hug our pets just a little tighter after this.
