In-Depth Review Of Embrace
How To Cancel Embrace Policy
The Embrace cancellation policy states:
You may cancel this policy at any time by:
i. Calling;
ii. Emailing; or
iii. Writing to us;
And stating the future date that you wish the cancellation to be effective.
It is best to call or email your termination request to Embrace. However, if you prefer another option, I’ve included faxing too.
3 Ways To Call & Cancel
If you’d like to speak with an Embrace representative about canceling, dial one of the phone numbers below.
- (800) 511-9172
- This is the phone number Embrace lists for you to call if you want to terminate your policy. It is also the number used for claim filing.
- (855) 540-2104
- This is Embrace’s customer care line. Embrace alerts callers, saying, “Due to high call volume, longer hold times can occur.” However, if you find it challenging to get through via the first phone number above, this number may be worth a shot.
- (855) 540-0591
- This phone number is listed for getting quotes and buying a policy. It could be your fastest way to speak with a human, as companies typically want phone lines associated with sales to have little to no wait times. It may be a good option if the first two numbers aren’t getting you through to a human.
Once you are connected with a representative on the phone, you can ask any questions about canceling your policy. If they say they can terminate your policy over the phone, then you can proceed if you’d like. However, once they confirm they’ve terminated the policy, ask them to email you a confirmation message that the policy has been terminated. Having it in writing will help you should you accidentally be billed afterward.

Our Experience Emailing Embrace To Cancel
Sadie Cornelius, a team member here at Canine Journal, called Embrace during the first 30 days of her policy to cancel after she realized Pets Best offered much lower prices to insure her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Georgie. She also terminated the Embrace policy she had used for years with her previous dog, Lexie after she passed away. Both times she said canceling was easy, and afterward, she received an email from Embrace confirming termination. The Embrace email stated:

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are questions we frequently get asked by our readers about canceling Embrace. Don’t see yours? Ask us in the comments.
Can I Get My Money Back From Embrace?

- If you cancel your policy within 30 days of the start date and you’ve made no claim(s), Embrace will refund the entire premium you paid to you.
- If you cancel your policy within 30 days of the start date, but you made a claim(s), Embrace will refund the premiums for the periods beyond the first month.
- If you cancel your policy after the first 30 days of the policy period, Embrace will calculate a refund on a daily pro-rata basis, dependent on the termination date.
Can You Cancel Embrace Pet Insurance At Any Time?
Yes, you can cancel your pet insurance policy at any time.
What Is Embrace’s 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee?
You can cancel your policy for any reason within 30 days of the policy effective date, and Embrace will refund 100% of any premium paid as long as no claims have been reimbursed. This will revoke the policy entirely, denying any pending or not yet submitted claims.
What Happens To Pet Insurance When Pet Dies?
If your pet has crossed over the rainbow bridge, please know my thoughts are with you. It’s clear you cared immensely for your pet by insuring them. I hope you can find comfort in the memories you made with each other.
As for your question, when your pet dies, you should contact Embrace and notify them. You can do so via one of the methods listed above.
Your Dog May Have Pre-Existing Conditions
Before you cancel your Embrace policy, know that any conditions your pet was diagnosed with before or during your dog’s enrollment in Embrace’s insurance will be excluded from coverage by other insurance providers.
This could be consequential if your dog has a chronic condition (e.g., diabetes, allergies, cancer, arthritis, etc.). If your dog fits into this category, I recommend calculating your dog’s medical expenses for the year and considering how Embrace covers eligible conditions now. Are those expenses something you can afford without coverage?
I understand other circumstances cause you to cancel your pet insurance policy, too. Regardless, pet insurance is worth it, and insuring your pet is a great way to protect your wallet and care for your pet.
