Mama Dog Helps Rescuers Find And Dig For Her Buried Puppies
A mother’s love knows no bounds – and one mother dog was frantic to rescue her puppies after a home collapsed on top of their den, burying the puppies alive. Thankfully, Animal Aid Unlimited, India arrived at the scene to help.
As soon as the dog saw that help was arriving, she frantically began to whine and wag her tail, begging them for their help.
Even though the rescuers feared that the puppies might have died, the mother dog must’ve sensed they were still alive because she directed the rescue by using her snout to pinpoint where they needed to look.
As they began to lift rocks and bricks away, she began to dig alongside them. As she bit stones and pawed away dirt, she showed them exactly where they needed to focus their energy. She was sure to make the rescuers hurry, as “she seemed to realize that they could suffocate at any moment.”
Together, the rescuers and the mother dog took turns digging, trying to free the puppies.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, they could hear faint whimpers coming from below. The puppies were covered in dirt, but thankfully still breathing. The relieved mother inspected each one as they were pulled out from the debris.
After all the puppies were safely extracted, the rescuers relocated this family to a safe place, with plans to spay the mother after she weans her pups. The sad reality is that there aren’t enough resources and homes to go around for street dogs like this little family, but thankfully rescue organizations like Animal Aid do the best they can with what little they have.
