PetSafe Cozy Up Sofa Ramp – Top Dog Tips

Small breeds, senior pets, and dogs recovering from an injury need the help of a ramp to reach vehicles, beds and other furniture. Most pet owners don’t think about the need for a pet ramp until their dog actually needs one. But, did you know that products like the PetSafe CozyUp Sofa Ramp are actually beneficial for dogs of every breed and age?

Studies have found that jumping on and off high surfaces takes a great toll on a dog’s body over time. It causes injury and deterioration of the joints that could lead to long-term injury and/or arthritis. Providing a ramp for your dog to access high areas is a quick and easy way to prevent this problem down the road.

When shopping for a dog ramp it is important to choose one that is the appropriate size for your pet. The ramp shouldn’t be too steep, and there should be carpeting or some type of material that offers good traction to reduce the risk of slipping.

You’ll need to check the weight limit on the ramp as well, to ensure that it will properly support your dog. The PetSafe CozyUp Sofa Ramp is a good option for small and medium breeds. Keep reading to find out how durable the ramp is and whether or not I believe it’s a good value for the money.

PetSafe Cozy Up Sofa Ramp Review

PetSafe Cozy Up Sofa RampAs you can see in my photos, this ramp is ideal for my medium-sized dog, Joey. It also works well for my 75-pound Labrador. The ramp measures 45″ L X 14″ W X 14″ H when open.

The PetSafe CozyUp Sofa Ramp is available in an espresso or cherry finish. Both feature a non-slip carpet covering. I prefer the aesthetics of a wooden ramp over a plastic option. They blend in with virtually any décor and generally look better in most environments.

Assembly is required with this product, but it comes with easy-to-follow instructions. It took me about 20 minutes to put together on my own. It would definitely go quicker if you had someone to help you assemble it.

The ramp is barely wide enough for our Labrador. While she makes the weight requirement, the size of the ramp is a bit small for her. The ramp is also missing a key safety feature that I was hoping for. There are no side railings on this ramp. I worry about one of our dogs slipping off the side, especially considering the narrow width.

You can buy the PetSafe Cozy Up Sofa Ramp for $119.99 on Amazon right now. I would like to see more safety features for this price, but it is a durable and sturdy ramp that will last for many years. It is in the mid-range price area for pet ramps, but most cheaper ramps are made of plastic material that isn’t as sturdy or aesthetically pleasing as wood.
