Service Dog Falls Into Her Owner’s Arms After Being Stolen
Service dogs play such important roles in the lives of people that they help. Not only do they help them cope with their health or mental health issues, but they provide a constant companion. People who rely on services dogs cannot imagine their lives without their pups – nor should they ever have to. That is why Bobby Linville was sent into a panic when his 8-month-old service dog, Baby Girl Blue, was stolen. The Husky mix was in the man’s van when it was robbed.
Linville’s world was launched into a tailspin as Baby Girl Blue isn’t just his most loyal friend, but she’s also the one who alerts him to any oncoming seizures. If that isn’t enough, she also helps him work through his PTSD. Linville was devastated.
While being interviewed by 10 On Your Side’s reporter, Tamara Scott, Linville explained, “I don’t care about my van. My boss owns a car lot, I can get another vehicle. A vehicle is a dime a dozen, but my dog, you can’t replace that.”
During the interview, Linville elaborated on how much his dog means to him. He was struggling not to cry during the interview. It was quite clear that Baby Girl Blue was his everything, and he was lost without her. Fortunately for Linville, he was eventually reunited with her after a whole week of separation.
After the news segment aired, the staff at the Norfolk Animal Care Center put two and two together and realized that Baby Girl Blue was the dog brought into their shelter by a Norfolk Police Officer. The NACC quickly got in touch with Linville and brought these two buddies back together. However, before the touching reunion, the NACC did give Baby Girl Blue a round of vaccines, and they implanted her with a microchip.
Following the reunion, Bobby was set up with a GoFundMe page in hopes that he can get a new van soon. But nothing matters to him as much as Baby Girl Blue – we’re so happy their story had a happy ending!
