Blue Ridge Beef Voluntarily Recalls Breeders Choice Raw Dog Food Due To Salmonella Contamination

Recall

Blue Ridge Beef voluntarily recalls their Breeders Choice #2 Natural Raw Dog Food due to Salmonella contamination.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), they were notified that the dog food tested positive for Salmonella on October 27, 2023.

The affected product, Breeders Choice 2# log dog food Lot# 8/2/24 UPC 8 54298 00193 1, was distributed between August 09 and August 25, 2023.

Furthermore, the product is also packaged in clear plastic and sold primarily in retail stores in the following states: Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Thankfully, no illnesses (for both humans and dogs) have been reported as of date.

The FDA is advising consumers who have purchased the product to directly contact Blue Ridge Beef at [email protected] for a full refund.

And since the product is contaminated with Salmonella, the FDA is urging consumers to neither feed, sell, nor donate the recalled product. Destroy the food immediately in a way where children, pets, and wildlife cannot gain access to it.

Wash and sanitize food bowls, cups, storage containers, or any utensil that has come in contact with the recalled product. And sanitize your hands properly after handling the recalled food.
