How PAWsome to adopt a dog on National Dog Day and then every year your adopt-a-versary will be celebrated globally?  If you are already at max capacity of pups, an easy way to help shelters is to simply volunteer.  Cleaning kennels, walking dogs and general socialization of dogs waiting for their fur-ever homes is always rewarding and welcomed by under staffed shelters.  Fostering dogs is the ultimate give for a shelter dog. By fostering, you can give  the one-on-one attention and loving comfort that only a home setting can offer — which is precisely what some animals need. At Dog Is Good, we say No Dog Left Behind.

Be Safe

One of the easiest and best ways to take care of your dog is to make sure their i.d. tag is up to date.  Even better is to get them microchipped. For example, unlike a collar, which can easily break, fall off, or be removed, a microchip is a reliable way to get your contact information. Furthermore, the chip can also store vital information about your dog’s medical conditions—and increase the odds he’ll be returned to you if he’s found.  Keeping them safe is the best gift a dog mom or dog dad can do.
