Clever Dog Brings Leaves To ‘Pay’ For Cookies At The Store

On the campus of Colombia’s Diversified Technical Education Institute of Moterrey Casanare there is a familiar face. For more than 5 years, a sweet, black, dog named Negro has been the campus’ guardian. The school’s faculty took Negro in and provided him with food, shelter, and plenty of love.

But this clever dog also figured out how currency works after observing students purchasing items from a small store on campus. As a result, Negro discovered a way to pay for his own treats.

According to one of the teachers, Angela Garcia Bernal, Negro would often go to the store and observe how the students received something in exchange for the money that they presented.

Then one day, the store clerks saw Negro approaching with a leaf in his mouth. They knew right then, what he wanted.

While Negro’s currency of tree leaves was undoubtedly a very unique form of currency, the store attendants were happy to accept it.

And when they did, they created began a very unique daily ritual. Negro would go every day in order to purchase himself some treats.

The store would make sure that the cookies that Negro purchased were dog-friendly. In addition, they would also make sure that he didn’t buy himself too many in one day.

This is certainly one priceless story.
