Mars Rover Finds Evidence of Dogs on Mars

New photos of Mars from NASA’s Perseverance rover have sparked a buzz of discussion over an odd formation that some have said is a dog, perched on top of a Martian rock.

The so-called Mars “dog” photo was snapped on April 1st by the microscope-like Mars Hand Lens Imager at the end of Perseverance’s robotic arm. At the center of the image is a strange, canine-shaped formation that some Internet forum users on the website claimed looked much like a mixed breed dog.

“If you really look closely,” said one observer, “you can see the dog about to lift his paw, as if to shake! He looks like a good boy!”

NASA posted a raw, unprocessed version of the photo online on the rover’s mission website. Internet forum users unanimously agreed the image included that of a medium sized, white and brown mutt. Additionally, images of short, snake-like formations were spotted on the Red Planet’s surface. Many speculate that those formations are indeed dog poop.

NASA representative, Carl Fido told Dogington Post, “Next time we send the Rover to Mars, we plan to drop off a large bag of premium dog food and see if Martian dogs react the same way our Earth dogs do.”

Mr. Fido further explained that NASA is in talks with the Humane Society to possibly rescue the stray dog and bring him back to a shelter on Earth in hopes of finding him a forever home.

The Dogington Post is serious about dogs, but we like to have a little fun, too! This article has been fabricated by the editors of this site. Happy April Fool’s Day!
