Dog car seat covers are an essential item for me. I take my dogs for rides almost every day. Between the dirt, dog hair and sharp toenails, they do a number on my upholstery. I have seat covers on every seat of every vehicle our family owns.

Needless to say, I’ve tested a lot of dog car seat covers in the past. While the OKMEE dog car seat cover is comparable in quality and durability, it’s way ahead of the pack when it comes to versatility.

As the name suggests, this car seat is 4 products in 1. It can be a hammock style or bench style car seat cover, a bucket seat cover or a cargo liner. As you can see in my video review, there are multiple zippers that allow you to transform the seat cover from one to another in just a few seconds.

When used as a hammock-style seat cover, there is a mesh window in the middle that allows your dog to see you and allows you to see what’s going on in the back seat. There is also a large pocket, as shown in the photo above, that can be used to hold all of your dog supplies like leashes, food bowls, water, etc…

The full dimensions of this product are 59″L x 53″W. It fits in virtually every car, truck and SUV. I especially like the enlarged side flaps that protect the sides of your car seats when your dog climbs in.

While this is an obvious benefit, it may also be a drawback if you have a small vehicle. The OKMEE dog car seat cover fits fine in our full size car, but it fits even better in our large SUV.

If you have a small vehicle, there may be quite a bit of overhang on either side of the car seat cover. You can fold the excess under or bunch it up, but it could prove to be more of a hassle than just purchasing a seat cover that fits your car model.

This seat cover isn’t waterproof, but it is water resistant. I prefer a waterproof seat cover, but only because I take my Labrador swimming quite often. It’s also nice if you have children and dogs, because you don’t have to worry about any spills leaking through onto your upholstery.

I also like that this seat cover features a non-slip backing. This prevents it from sliding around while you’re driving. It keeps your seats clean and benefits unstable pets from falling over or getting injured when you take a sharp corner.

The biggest drawback to this seat cover is that it doesn’t have openings for the seatbelt buckles. If you’re only using the seat cover when your dogs are in the vehicle, that won’t be an issue for you. However, if you have passengers in your backseat often, it can be a pain to have to remove the seat cover to buckle the seat cover.

I’m also happy to see that this dog seat cover is machine washable. That’s an important feature for me, but not all seat covers can be washed in a machine. This seat cover is also easily cleaned by hand, if you just need to do a quick spot clean. All you have to do is wipe it down with a damp cloth and hang it up to dry.

I was surprised to see that it sells for a comparable price, because it is so much more versatile than any similar product that I have tried.
